LIVE: Lostprophets – 06/02/10 – Hull City Hall

This gig was definitely one of the best ive been to in a long time!

Unfortunately I missed the first support band due to the massive queue outside the venue of people waiting to get in.

Second on were Kids in Glass Houses. They did an excellent job in warming the crowd up for Lostprophets. They played a few old tracks such as “Give Me What I Want” and “Easy Tiger”. The group also performed a few new songs of their upcoming album Dirt which is scheduled to be released on the 29th March.

Next up were Lostprophets – they put on a hell of a show! The guys played a mix of old songs including fan favourites “Last Summer”, “Rooftops” and “Last Train Home”. They also played a few songs from their recently released album The Betrayed including “Dstryr / Dstryr” and the brilliant introduction song to their set “If It Wasn’t For Hate”. All songs were received very well by the Hull crowd. My personal favourites from the set were “A Town Called Hypocrisy” and “Shinobi”. They also did a cover of The Prodigy’s “Omen”. I really enjoyed it – they gave the club classic a more rockier sound and edge. In my opinion much better than the original.

Frontman Ian Watkins did an exceptional job in keeping the crowd pumped and going throughout the night. Watkins interacted alot with the audience which was a great touch. Some bands, don’t do this enough which is a real shame.

Lostprophets

Overall the Welsh rockers put on an amazing show – you can tell they give it all when they go on stage. They kept the fans happy with the mixture of old and new songs – similar to what they have done with The Betrayed album.
