For the first time in 14 years, a full version of one of the most iconic alternative music festivals of all time made its return to the UK. Keeping to the tradition of the US Warped Tour, fans were greeted at today’s regal venue with the stage times and warm smiles from all involved in what was a flawlessly organized event. Many punters arrived still with the fresh news of special guests – The Used who had just come off the back of an arena tour with Evanescence.

3Oh!3 exhibited how to party to a 10,000 strong crowd of punk rock fans. Playing hits such as “Don’t Trust Me” and “Starstrukk”. Strong vocals and a fantastic stage presence meant for a well received set.

Many fans were here for certain bands, one of those key bands was Architects. The band look fresh and lively. They perform with conviction, complemented with the strong vocals of Sam Carter. Architects played hits such as “Learn To Live”, “Day In Day Out” and “Early Grave”.

The Used managed to attract a large crowd today, and coming fresh off an arena tour with Arkansas rockers Evanescence, they were on top form. As always, The Used are effortlessly entertaining. True, gritty, meaningful rock, executed with utter class. Playing songs such as “The Bird and the Worm”, “Take It Away” and a very rare acoustic rendition of their ballad “On My Own”, The Used will leave as one of the highlights of today’s event.

All day long there was buzz about a certain band from Sheffield. Bring Me The Horizon haven’t played in nearly a year, and apart from a small home-town show in Sheffield, tonight sold out Alexandra Palace will be their first show ‘back’. Coming on stage to the haunting “Blessed With A Curse”, the Steel City giants rattled through fan favourites such as “Chelsea Smile”, “Football Season Is Over” and “Fuck”. Fans were treated to an epic performance and new material. Bring Me The Horizon’s hotly anticipated new album drops early next year, and is sure to be a treat.

Our headliners come in the form of one of the best British rock bands of out generation, Lostprophets. The Welsh sextet are used to sizeable crowds, and come prepared with a setlist proving why they are still one of the best bands around. Playing hits such as “Rooftops”, “Burn Burn”, “Darkest Blue”, “Last Summer” and set closer “Burn Burn”. Easily the best band of the day, Lostprophets sent shivers down the spines of a sold out Alexandra Palace.

It looks very likely we will be treated to another Warped Tour next year. Now all we can do is wait and prepare ourselves for another fantastic cold Saturday of real music.
