LIVE: The Blackout – 25/01/13 – Electric Ballroom, Camden

Tonight The Blackout visit the capital in support of their latest studio effort, “Start the Party”. The theme is very much party, with multi-coloured confetti, merchandise and support acts to match.

Starting the proceedings this evening was Yorkshire based electric-rock band Proxies. Proxies are certainly not newcomers when it comes to warming up a crowd having toured with acts such as Pendulum, Kids in Glass Houses and Fall Out Boy. The band received a great reception from a reasonable sized Camden crowd.

Up next was the Manchester five-piece, Sonic Boom Six. With their mesh of ska, punk, metal and hip-hop, the band were a perfect addition to the party themed tour. The band played non-stop making sure the crowd were prepared thoroughly for tonight’s headliners.

The time had come for tonight’s main act to take the stage, slightly earlier than usual, to a filled out Electric Ballroom. It is the bands second night in the capital after playing an acoustic show the night before, allowing plenty of time to prepare and ready themselves for tonight’s show. Fans donned merchandise from every era of The Blackout’s career and the setlist would prove to please all fans. The Blackout played songs from all studio albums including “Start the Party”, “I’m a Riot? You’re a Fucking Riot!”, “The Devil Inside”, “Save Ourselves” and “Hope”.

The Blackout displayed their great stage presence and relationship with a very loyal fan (and ever-growing) base. Tonight was a success with no fans left disappointed. The tour carries on to Manchester.
