LIVE: Crossfaith – 20/11/14 – KOKO, London

I remember when I first saw Crossfaith – they were playing underneath a railway bridge in London as part of the Camden Crawl back in 2012. Fast forward 2 years, they’ve accomplished so much; supported the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, played the main stage at Download and Reading/Leeds Festivals and to top it off they headlined KOKO, one of the most prestigious stages in the capital.

It’s inspiring to see how much a band can accomplish in such a short period of time and how the UK has embraced the Osaka five piece. As well as being filmed for a live DVD, tonight’s show was part of the band’s first ever UK headline tour. Coldrain‘s frontman Masato mentioned earlier in the evening that one of Crossfaith‘s goals was to headline KOKO – It’s been a long time coming, but Crossfaith are finally doing it tonight.

As ususal the band were at the top of their game. They opened with ‘We Are The Future’ – as soon as the song hit, the crowd went into a frenzy. We were treated to a tonne of tracks from Apocalyze’ including ‘Countdown To Hell’ and ‘Eclipse’. I don’t know what it is, but the songs sound way better live than on record. Highlights included the Crossfaith classic ‘Jägerbomb’ – bassist Hiroki downed some Jägermeister before the track dropped! It’s not a Crossfaith show without a cover of The Prodigy’s ‘Omen’. As expected this went down really well! The band closed with Leviathan – a great way to end the night.

The production for tonight was stunning – There were ramps, smoke machines,  crazy lights and  even confetti. I really can’t wait to see the finished product, I know it will look and sound amazing.
