Iron Maiden’s plane too heavy for Germany

As you all know, Iron Maiden are currently on their world tour promoting their AMAZING new album ‘The Book Of Souls’. You may also know that band and crew (and gear) are travelling in Ed Force One, the band’s 747 jet, piloted by frontman Bruce Dickinson.

We’ve just heard that the plane will have to alter its course after officials at Dortmund Airport realised it will be too heavy for the runway. Instead of landing in Dortmund on May 27th for their headlining gig at the Rock im Revier Festival, they’ll land in Düsseldorf the day before and bus it to the show.

The tour is going great so far and we can’t wait till the UK date – a headline set at the awesome Download Festival, which takes place at Donington Park from the 10th – 12th June. Updated Line-up / poster below!
