Greywind Interview

We caught up with Paul from Greywind a few weeks ago. Check out the interview below.

1. You’re playing Download Festival in June. What can we expect from your set?

Download is something that we’ve always wanted to play and the lineup is amazing so we’re really excited to be part of it. We pour our hearts into every single show we play so people can expect to see us giving it everything.

2. Download is shaping up to be the best festival of the year – what other bands are you looking forward to catching over the weekend?

We missed Biffy Clyro after our Reading & Leeds set last year so we’re really looking forward to seeing them live for the first time. We definitely want to try and catch Holding Absence and Moose Blood’s sets too!

3. Your album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released earlier this year. What has the feedback been like?

The reaction to the album has been so incredible. We’ve written these songs for ourselves and as long as we love them, that’s the most important thing, but to have so many great reviews by massive, respected magazines is really amazing.

4. What are your favourite tracks from the album and why?

We’re insanely proud of every song on the album so we could talk about any of them, but if we had to choose we’ll probably go with ‘Circle’ and ‘Forest Ablaze’.

We love calm, beautiful moments in songs that can suddenly erupt out of nowhere in to big heavy emotional parts and these two songs highlight that especially. They’re two of our favourites on the album and to play live.

5. What are your touring plans for the rest of the year? Can we expect a headline tour soon?

We have a few other things yet to be announced, but along with Download we’ll also be playing 2000 Trees Festival this summer. We have lots of things happening behind the scenes right now and our first ever headline tour is something that is definitely at the front of our minds.

6. Music-wise, what’s next? Are you writing towards another album or an EP?

We’ve known what album 2 is going to be for a very long time now, way before the release of album 1, so we’re really excited for what’s coming next.
