Let us start by finding all the things that we love about Enter Shikari. They have brought us two (and now three) of the best albums in the past ten years. They have managed to organically marry two genres of music, doing justice to both. They tackle some of the world’s most important issues without taking themselves too seriously. They have a dedicated fan base for which they care for greatly. Their music is brutal, yet beautiful. Enter Shikari have just released their brand new full length studio album “A Flash Flood Of Colour”, and once again, they have delivered

The album starts just as their last, combining the pad opening from “Common Dreads” to the brand new “System…”. A very aggressive statement from frontman and main lyricist Rou Reynolds is counteracted with gentle breaks, and moments of calmness before they drop the storm that is track two, “…Meltdown”. As always with Enter Shikari, gang vocals lead to massive drops and this is certainly true of the album’s opening tracks. The album moves on to previously released single “Snakepit” and then on to my personal favorites “Search Party” and “Stalemate”, giving us their two awesome ballads.

The album runs through very smoothly and it is true to say that the new album certainly is a treat for fans of both “Take To The Skies” and “Common Dreads”. “A Flash Flood Of Colour” is most certainly a mix of flavors experimented in their previous albums but is also much more mature in both musicianship and song content. What struck me whilst listening to the album was that they have managed to keep everything that is Enter Shikari while incorporating many new styles into their music.

Heavier tracks such as “Arguing With Thermometers”, show us some of the sensitive topics that the band touch on, but other tracks such as “Ghandi Mate, Ghandi” once again assure us that they do not take themselves too seriously and that they can still have a good time while combating very touchy material.

“A Flash Flood Of Colour” is a step forward for Enter Shikari and it seems that nothing can stop them from taking over the British rock scene.

The band go on a full UK tour in March. Make sure you do not miss their biggest headline tour to date!

Fast-rising Brighton quartet Fighting Fiction release their eponymous self-titled debut album and new single ‘Turning Rebellion into Money’ through Xtra Mile Recordings on27th February 2012.

An infectious punk rock record, ‘Fighting Fiction’ is full of politically charged articulate lyrics, powerful driving rhythms and catchy refrains. Featuring the single ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll is Dead and its Corpse is for Sale’ – which received strong support from fan Radio 1’s Mike Davies – all ten tracks pack a powerful punch, hitting you the head as well as the heart. Recorded and produced by friend and highly credited producer Mark Williams, (Oceansize, Million Dead, Yourcodenameis:milo, Biffy Clyro & Enter Shikari) ‘Fighting Fiction’ perfectly captures the band’s honesty, integrity and knack for writing a great pop punk song.

With a DIY approach, their keen touring ethic has seen them play alongside Frank Turner, This Town Needs Guns, The Riot Before, The Xcerts, Laura Marling and Crazy Arm; as well as festival appearances at The Lock Up Stage at Reading and Leeds Festival, The Isle of Man TT, The Isle of Wight and 2000Trees.

With support coming in thick and fast from all corners of the industry the band are set for a fantastic 2012. Ones to watch!
